First Baptist Church Weaverville has a food pantry ministry. We provide non-perishable food to needy persons (one bag per visit).
First Baptist Church Weaverville supports the Good News Rescue Mission in Redding, CA.
Founded in 1964 by a group of concerned Christians, GNRM offers a hand up to thousands of men, women and children in the Redding area.
The Good News Rescue Mission provides overnight lodging, meals, emergency groceries, clothing, furniture and household items to needy people.
First Baptist Church Weaverville Deaconesses have many outreach ministries, including providing meals for church members needing assistance.
First Baptist Church Weaverville participates in the Douglas City Soup Kitchen the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
FBCW participates in the Trinity County Transient Ministry. In order to distribute the costs evenly between Weaverville churches, the Trinity Ministerial Association devised a plan several years ago to pool funds. Transients who stop by our church are interviewed by either Pastor Jay or our secretary, Sue, to assess their needs. Pastor Jay makes it his mission to be sure they hear the gospel before they receive groceries from our pantry.
If they have other needs, they are asked to fill out an informational sheet and are given a voucher to take to the Sheriff’s Office, where the department runs any checks for outstanding warrants. If they pass, they are eligible for either a voucher for a meal at a restaurant, a night’s stay in a local motel, or for gas.
What a blessing for you to be a part of this local outreach by donating funds or supplying groceries for our pantry.
